Skypets International was formed by Helen Evans, who created and developed the pet product for Virgin Atlantic Airways back in 2003.
Virgin quickly became a market leader in the movement of pets in and out of the UK and her team successfully moved over 31,000 pets across the globe for Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia and Delta Airlines.
Under Helen’s stewardship, Virgin was the first airline to be approved to fly direct from the USA to London Heathrow under the UK Pet Travel Scheme and was the only airline to offer a full clearance and personalised ‘meet and greet’ service on arrival in the UK.
Helen, together with Ali Adams, have nearly 20 years’ experience in relocating pets for families, military personnel, foreign office dignitaries, VIP’s and those within the film industry. The team are specialists in exporting and importing a wide range of cargo items but our hearts lie within the movement of pets as captured in our name, Skypets International “your pets, our passion”.

Meet the Team.
Helen Evans, Director
Helen is the founder of Skypets International and has over thirty years’ experience in the airfreight, customs and logistics sectors.
She joined Virgin Atlantic in 1992 where she managed the internal shipping department covering 24/7 aerospace movements, supplier management, business HMRC compliance expert and projects that needed customs’ and shipping expertise.
In 2003 she took on the challenge of setting up, and managing, the Virgin Atlantic pet program. This enterprise proved to be a resounding success for Virgin affording it international recognition for its innovation and efficiency. She also managed the international pet movements for Virgin Australia and the UK pet product for Delta Airlines.
Helen is IATA certified in live animal regulations and live animals’ cargo logistics management and has a passion for the welfare and safety of pets in transportation.
Helen enjoys travel and has visited all corners of the globe. However, Wales will always be ‘home’.
Ali Adams, Reservations Manager
Ali worked for Virgin Atlantic Airways for more than 31 years. Within this time, she gained extensive knowledge of airline operations through her roles in reservations, cabin crew management and a thriving cargo shipping department.
Within her role as cargo shipping specialist, she was responsible for the acceptance of all outbound pets leaving the UK from check-in to departure. She was also a customs’ clearance expert for all inbound pet arrivals into the UK.
She is now bringing this invaluable knowledge and high-level of customer service experience to Skypets International in her role as Reservations Manager. She loves nothing more than assisting owners and their pets with their travel plans, whether it is reuniting families or ensuring families and their pets can holiday together to even the most far-flung corners of the world.
Ali has always owned a rescue dog and knows only too well how much unconditional love they give, especially when in return for food and a game of ball.
